In recent years, there has been a tremendous rise and evolution of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which has revolutionized the automotive industry and improved road safety. The main developments in ADAS technologies are examined in this abstract, along with their implications for road safety and future directions. The combination of sensors, cameras, radar, and LiDAR systems—which allow cars to see their surroundings with previously unheard-of accuracy—lays the groundwork for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and automated emergency braking have been made possible by these technologies, greatly lowering the number of collisions and saving lives. The development of autonomous or self-driving cars is a noteworthy ADAS innovation. Autonomous driving systems are being developed by companies such as Tesla, Waymo, and General Motors, which aim to improve driving safety and convenience. But there are still issues with rules, moral dilemmas, and the requirement for strong AI algorithms. The advancement of ADAS goes beyond safety, as these technologies also improve convenience and comfort for drivers. Driving is getting more fun with an increasing number of features like voice activated controls, traffic congestion assistance, and automatic parking. The automotive industry is changing as a result of ADAS technologies, which increase convenience, safety, and open the door for autonomous driving. To guarantee the safe and responsible integration of ADAS into our daily lives, industry stakeholders, legislators, and researchers must work together to overcome the remaining issues as these technologies develop.
